Every summer, as temperatures rise, the rhythm of our cities changes. For most people, it means moving from one air-conditioned space to another. But for thousands of delivery captains, summer brings a different reality: long hours on the road, navigating heat, traffic, and tight delivery windows, all to keep daily life running smoothly for everyone else.
At HAAT, we often say that our captains are at the heart of everything we do. But what does that really mean when conditions become more challenging?
This year, we launched “Stay Cool, Captain” as part of our broader summer campaign. The idea wasn’t to create a one-time gesture, but to respond to real, everyday needs: places to pause, cool down, and recharge, even if just for a few minutes between deliveries.
Together with local restaurant and café partners, we introduced cooling and rest stations across 11 cities.
These weren’t symbolic spaces. They were practical, accessible stops offering cold drinks, ice cream, air-conditioned seating, and phone charging points.
Over the course of the initiative, more than 1,000 captains used these stations, turning them into brief moments of rest in otherwise demanding days.

Supporting captains isn’t something we can do alone.
We’ve partnered with restaurants and partners from Umm Al-Fahm to Haifa, Nazareth to Rahat, local businesses who offer free refreshments and welcomed captains into their restaurants to refresh and recharge, creating a more supportive daily experience.
Each location adapted in its own way, while maintaining a shared intention: to make captains feel welcome, comfortable, and seen.
While summer initiatives are seasonal, the thinking behind them isn’t.
Whether it’s improving daily working conditions or providing regular safety checks for vehicles, the goal remains the same: to build a platform where people feel valued, supported, and seen.
Because behind every delivery is a person navigating the day, and our responsibility is to make that journey better, one step at a time.
